The Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad is one of the most distinctive outdoor pools in Bonn, combining its location by the Rhine, sports offerings, and summer atmosphere in a way that is instantly memorable. Official sites describe the pool as being exceptionally picturesque, located directly on the Rhine with a view of the Siebengebirge. The illuminated, elliptical ten-meter diving tower is the landmark of the pool and ensures a high recognition value from the outside. This image is complemented by a sunbathing lawn, attraction pool, adventure playground, sand play area, mud area, and a large water slide. The support association also describes the Panoramabad as having been built in 1930 and reopened in 1993 after extensive renovations. This creates a location that is historically and substantively much more than a classic outdoor pool. ([baeder.bonn.de](https://baeder.bonn.de/baeder/panoramabad-ruengsdorf-freibad))

Parking and Directions to the Panoramabad in Bonn-Rüngsdorf

Regarding Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad parking, the official sites clearly show one thing: The arrival is heavily focused on public transportation. Both the Bonn pools and the Bonn region mention bus lines 613 and 615, which go directly to the Rüngsdorf outdoor pool and also connect to the Bad Godesberg train station. For guests coming from other parts of Bonn or further away, this is important information as it allows for a good combination of visits by train and bus. The facility is also described as wheelchair accessible, which facilitates access for different visitor groups. The official communication does not mention specific parking spaces, so the public transport arrival is clearly highlighted and reliably communicated as the primary option. ([baeder.bonn.de](https://baeder.bonn.de/baeder/panoramabad-ruengsdorf-freibad))

The location at Am Schwimmbad 8 in Bonn-Rüngsdorf makes the site easily findable, but it also becomes a typical destination during the summer months when many guests come from the district, from Bad Godesberg, and from the Bonn surrounding area. This explains why search queries like Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad directions, Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad Bonn, and Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad at the swimming pool Bonn are so closely related. Pools, Diving Tower, and Facilities at Rüngsi

The centerpiece of the Panoramabad is the clear division into different water areas that appeal to both competitive swimmers and families and casual swimmers. The official information states a 50-meter sports pool with eight lanes and a constant water depth of 2 meters. Additionally, there is a diving pool measuring 18 by 18 meters and a depth of 4.78 meters, as well as an impressive diving facility with two one-meter and two three-meter boards, a five-meter platform, a seven-and-a-half-meter platform, and a ten-meter platform. The ensemble is complemented by an attraction pool with 800 square meters of water surface and a separate toddler or family zone with a paddling pool. The facility is heated, and the water temperature is officially stated to be at least 21 degrees Celsius. This is a clear advantage for search queries like Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad diving tower or Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad slide, as the facilities meet the typical expectations of a large outdoor pool. ([baeder.bonn.de](https://baeder.bonn.de/oeffnungszeiten?utm_source=openai))

The offerings are also remarkably diverse for families. In addition to the sports and diving areas, there is, according to Bonn pools, an adventure playground, a spacious sand play area, a so-called mud area, and a large water slide approximately 27.5 meters long. The paddling pool also features a small slide, floor sprayers, a water cannon, and a splash area with a water tunnel, water octopus, water frog, and water hedgehog. This makes the Panoramabad interesting not only for lane swimmers but also for children who want to experience water and movement in a playful way. This mix of competitive sports, leisure, and family-friendliness makes the place adaptable for very different target groups. Those searching for Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad photos often want to see exactly these contrasts: the impressive tower, the wide sunbathing lawn, the large sports pool, and the lively family zone. For the 2026 season, the pool is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, the opening hours are from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Particularly helpful for early swimmers is the note that only the swimming pool is open until 10:00 AM. At the same time, entry and ticket sales regularly close 40 minutes before the end of the respective opening time. This allows visitors to better plan their arrival and bathing time. So, if someone wants to swim a few laps before work in the morning, they will find a clearly structured time window that differs significantly from a classic weekend visit. ([baeder.bonn.de](https://baeder.bonn.de/oeffnungszeiten?utm_source=openai))

Location by the Rhine, Rhine View, and History of the Panoramabad

The special appeal of the Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad lies not only in its facilities but especially in its location. Official sites emphasize that the pool is located directly on the Rhine and offers a view of the Siebengebirge. This view is one of the main reasons why the outdoor pool in Bonn is often described as particularly atmospheric. The name Panoramabad is not just a marketing term but a fairly accurate description of the experience on site: water, expanses, green spaces, and the view over the river shape the impression. The illuminated ten-meter tower at night also contributes to the location being visually memorable. In the Bonn region, the pool is regarded as a swimming pool with high quality of stay, and the combination of location, architecture, and outdoor pool feeling is particularly distinctive on warm days. ([baeder.bonn.de](https://baeder.bonn.de/baeder/panoramabad-ruengsdorf-freibad))

Regarding the history of the pool, the support association provides important dates. According to them, the Panoramabad was built in 1930 and reopened in 1993 after extensive renovations. The association also describes it as the oldest outdoor pool in Bonn and emphasizes that it has been the venue for national and international competitions in its past. Such historical information helps to understand the location not only as a recreational place but also as part of Bonn's pool history. Combined with the location by the Rhine and the view of the Siebengebirge, a profile emerges that is rarely found so cohesively in the Rhineland. For the search queries Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad Bonn and Rüngsdorfer Panoramabad Siebengebirge, this connection of place, history, and landscape is particularly important. So, those visiting the pool experience not just an outdoor pool but a piece of local identity that has grown over decades and is still perceived by many Bonn residents as a characteristic place. The Bonn pools site also uses images to make the character of the facility visible. Those who want to inform themselves before the visit can already get an impression online of the open architecture, the spacious sunbathing lawn, and the interplay of water surfaces and views. This is precisely what makes the pool attractive for families, recreational swimmers, and excursionists: It is immediately clear that this is not just a place for swimming but for spending a summer day. The imagery thus supports the expectation that the Panoramabad is a place for movement, relaxation, and beautiful views at the same time. ([visit-bonn-region.de](https://www.visit-bonn-region.de/poi/panoramabad-bonn-ruengsdorf))

Five stars to the very unique swimming pool that has a few different sections depending on what interests you. There are many attractions for kids to play with, either in the water or outside. The employees there are very friendly and there is ample parking for cars outside.

Nice spot in a nice neighborhood. Accessible by public transit. Lockers seemed secure. When I visited, showers were clean. The admission staff was helpful, spoke English and seemed to welcome foreigners (like me). The fitness pool used only two lane dividers without pace designations so lanes were less organized and more leisurely than what I had expected. The play pool has currents like a small water park.

We rested as a family. Despite the huge number of people, there is also a lot of space. There are sun loungers and places on the lawn in the shade. Pools to choose from and suitable for all ages. There are places to buy food and eat. We liked the weekend. Children are delighted. Thanks.
