Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche Beuel | Services & Events

The Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche in Bonn-Beuel-Süd is more than just a single place of worship: it is one of four centers of the Evangelical Church Community Beuel and part of a vibrant community center at Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Straße 8. The community describes itself as a large fellowship with about 8,800 people in 12 Beuel districts; at all locations, services, groups, meeting points, concerts, and offerings for children and youth are naturally included. This is exactly what characterizes this location: Here, regular services meet church music, family offerings, and an active community life that extends far beyond Sunday morning. Those looking for photos, the address, the program, or the role of this church in community life will find a location with a clear identity, its own history, and a remarkably broad usage. The church is not isolated but is part of a whole complex that has been a firm reference point for faith, music, and encounters in Beuel-Süd for decades. Services and Current Dates at the Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche

The church's service page immediately makes it clear that the Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche is a central place of Sunday life. Typically, services here begin at 10:00 AM; on the first Sunday of the month, the time shifts to 11:15 AM along with the Versöhnungskirche. The current schedule also features special celebrations at this location, such as Good Friday, Easter Sunday, confirmation communion, confirmation, and other liturgically shaped services. Thus, the church is not only a place for the standard Sunday but also for the major stations of the church year. Those interested in searching for services, the current time, or special celebrations will encounter a community that clearly structures and publicly makes its schedule accessible. This is a decisive plus point, especially for visitors who come with the search terms services, program, or Sunday dates. ([evangelisch-beuel.de](https://www.evangelisch-beuel.de/sonntags-gottesdienste/))

The community image behind it is also important: The Evangelical Church Community Beuel sees itself as a community with four districts, each with its own church and community center, so that people locally have a reliable point of contact. The Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche takes on the role of the location for Beuel-Süd in this structure. Practically speaking, this means that not only a theological offering is bundled here, but also part of the internal community infrastructure. Those heading to the church arrive at a place where worship, pastoral care, encounters, and events belong together. The fact that the community lists both regular Sunday services and special celebrations and thematic formats on its website shows a vibrant practice that relies on continuity while also allowing space for festive days, musical services, and intergenerational worship. Events, Church Music, and Concerts in Beuel-Süd

Anyone who only associates the Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche with classic Sunday services overlooks one of its most important profiles: the church is a lively event venue. On the homepage of the Evangelical Church Community Beuel, contributions from the areas of church music and others regularly appear, including current formats such as a cantata service, Buxtehude evenings, or the performance by Andy Irvine. This mix shows that the location cannot be reduced to a single type of event. Instead, it connects spiritual formats with artistic and musical offerings that appeal to a broader audience and fit well with the evangelical community culture in Beuel. For SEO search, this is particularly relevant: the interest in events, concerts, church music, or programs meets here with a real place that has recurring dates and changing formats. ([evangelisch-beuel.de](https://www.evangelisch-beuel.de/))

The musical diversity is no coincidence but part of a developed community life. On the page for participation, the children's choir Kirchenmäuse, the choir Haste Töne, and the brass choir Blechlawine are mentioned; additional church music dates are also included. The rehearsal dates show that musical engagement is not limited to performances but is regularly practiced in Beuel-Süd and at other community locations. Particularly interesting is that Haste Töne and the Kirchenmäuse are directly connected to the community center Süd, while Blechlawine rehearses in the community house. This underscores the strength of the church community as a network of several places where different generations and musical styles come together. Those looking for a place where church music is not just accompaniment but an identity-forming part of the program will find it here very quickly. Address, Directions, and the Community Center Beuel-Süd

The Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche is located in Bonn-Beuel-Süd, in the district of Limperich, at Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Straße 8, 53227 Bonn. On the contact page of the community, it is listed as the location Beuel-Süd; the overview of the community locations also makes it clear that there is not only a church here but a complete community center. For orientation on site, this is an important point: those who know the address do not end up at an isolated sacred building but in a spatially coherent evangelical location with multiple functions. This clarity is particularly helpful for people searching for directions, address, or Beuel-Süd, as the location is directly linked to the community structure. The Beuel church is thus both a spiritual anchor and a clearly marked meeting point in the district. ([evangelisch-beuel.de](https://www.evangelisch-beuel.de/kontakt/))

The community center Beuel-Süd is described on the website as an ensemble of the Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche, community house, and daycare center; the historical description also includes youth center and rectory. Additionally, the community refers in its solar power project to the fact that the roof areas of the community center are to be used for photovoltaic systems and that the installation of solar modules on the Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche has already been approved. This clearly shows that the location in Beuel-Süd has not only grown architecturally but is also being further developed for modern tasks. For visitors, this means: here lies an ensemble that spatially brings together church, education, care, and community work. This interplay makes the address at Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Straße so interesting and explains why the search intentions around directions, community house, and location are so closely linked to the church. ([evangelisch-beuel.de](https://www.evangelisch-beuel.de/solarstrom-mit-selbstbeteiligung/))

Family Church, Crawling Group, and Offers for Children

The Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche is explicitly also a place for families and children. On the page Church with Children, it states that the family church is celebrated in the Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche three to four times a year on Sundays, a service for all generations prepared by a volunteer team. This is more than just an additional offering: it shows that the community consciously understands the location as an intergenerational space. So, those looking for family church, children's church, or children's offerings will find a concrete and regularly recurring practice here. The focus is not on a large event dramaturgy but on participation, communal celebration, and the inclusion of children and parents in the service. ([evangelisch-beuel.de](https://www.evangelisch-beuel.de/kirche-mit-kindern/))

This profile is complemented by very practical group offerings. In the overview for parents and children, a crawling group is mentioned for Beuel-Süd, which takes place bi-weekly on Tuesdays from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM in the community house at Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Straße 8. The participation page also includes the children's choir Kirchenmäuse, which rehearses in the hall of the community house Beuel-Süd. This creates a chain of offerings around the church that range from toddler age to school age and simultaneously strengthen the social center of the location. This is particularly relevant for the search terms crawling group, community house, children's choir, and family church, as there is not only a naming but real, regularly occurring practice behind it. This combination of faith, music, and family-friendly openness makes the location very accessible to different target groups. ([evangelisch-beuel.de](https://www.evangelisch-beuel.de/sonstige-angebote-fuer-eltern-und-kinder/))

History and Architecture of the Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche

According to the historical description in Bonn.wiki, the evangelical Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche in Beuel-Limperich was built starting in 1963 based on plans by architects Rolffs and Hermes and was consecrated on November 29, 1964. This places the building in the era of upheaval of the 1960s, during which many evangelical communities developed new forms of community centers. Particularly exciting is that the church was not created as a solitary structure but was conceived from the beginning in the context of a youth center, kindergarten, and rectory. This explains why the location does not appear like a classic individual church today but rather as a functional, vibrant center of community life. For those interested in history, year of construction, or architectural background, this is a clear plus point, as the church has a well-datable year of origin and a comprehensible urban planning concept. In 1974, a three-manual Peter-Rößler organ was also added, further enhancing the musical-historical character of the place. ([bonn.wiki](https://bonn.wiki/wiki/Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche_Beuel))

The church also possesses distinctive architectural features. Bonn.wiki describes a tall bell tower, to which the community hall and kindergarten are connected. Inside, blue-white windows by Herm Dienz and a large wooden cross by Robby Gebhardt shape the image, so that light and material significantly influence the space. These details are particularly interesting for the search term photos, as they explain why the church leaves a lasting impression not only functionally but also visually. The combination of modern church architecture, warm interior, and clear community architecture makes the location a typical yet distinctive example of evangelical sacred architecture in Bonn from the 1960s. Those looking at the church photographically or historically will discover not just a building but an ensemble with tower, hall, kindergarten, and a consciously designed interior effect. ([bonn.wiki](https://bonn.wiki/wiki/Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche_Beuel))

Sustainability, Community Life, and Participation

The Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche is today also part of a sustainable community approach. In 2024, a roof lease agreement was concluded with BürgerEnergie Rhein-Sieg to install solar power systems on the roofs of the community center in Beuel-Süd. The community explicitly states that the regional church has approved the installation of photovoltaic elements on the Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche as the first center. Additionally, the community's environmental report documents a new lighting system in 2018/2019 and a new heating system in the church in 2019. These measures show that the location is not only historically interesting but is also being further developed energetically and organizationally. For many search queries regarding current use, sustainability, or modern community practice, these facts are important as they describe the church as a place that evolves with the times and takes responsibility for the future. ([evangelisch-beuel.de](https://www.evangelisch-beuel.de/solarstrom-mit-selbstbeteiligung/))

At the same time, community life remains broad and open. The community describes on its homepage that services of various kinds, groups and meeting points, confirmation work, open-door offerings for children and youth, discussion rounds, game afternoons, choirs, and concerts take place at all locations. For Beuel-Süd, this means a church that not only operates on Sundays but also sets impulses throughout the week and the entire year. Whether music, family work, youth offerings, or spiritual celebrations: the Nachfolge-Christi-Kirche is practically a place of participation. This is precisely where its strength lies for visitors, community members, and seekers alike. The location connects tradition, everyday life, and new beginnings in a way that is very clearly visible in the search intentions surrounding events, community house, church music, and Bonn-Beuel. A modern church with dark windows, more black than color. The purpose of the windows is unclear. Solid benches with cushions, but nothing good for your back.

A wonderful team fosters meaningful, moving, warm, and joyful fellowship and connection with the Creator and the values of Jesus Christ. For service times, simply visit www.evangelisch-beuel.de and look under "Services." The church, built in 1964, feels like home to me, with its warm wood and wall colors, the "shabby chic" cross and ship elements, and the flexible, unobtrusive lighting.

This Protestant church belongs to the Bonn-Beuel South parish. A wide variety of events are offered there, especially by their very dedicated cantor and organist, Hubert Arnold! The brass band Blechlawine is also a frequent guest. There's a very pleasant atmosphere—almost like a family gathering. The pastors are always captivating!

Far too many political pronouncements during the confirmation service. *The following is a very apt quote from Matthias Pankau* Even Martin Luther lamented the constant conflation of the secular and spiritual realms: For the wretched devil never ceases to stir and brew these two realms together. "The secular rulers, in the devil's name, always want to teach and master Christ, how he should govern his church and spiritual life. Likewise, the false priests and demagogues, not in God's name, always want to teach and master how to order secular governance." In their pronouncements, the churches often focus not on matters of faith, but primarily on political issues – ranging from climate protection and gender equality to sea rescue. Their one-sided stance on refugee policy, for example, has been causing many believers to despair for years. The purchase of a ship by a church-supported organization was likely the last straw for many.
