Those looking for a place where children can play freely, build, romp, and simultaneously take responsibility for animals and materials will find one of the most well-known youth farm facilities in Bonn here. The city of Bonn describes the farm as an educationally supervised offer with animal contact, hut building, crafting, and generous grounds. The youth farm Bonn itself emphasizes the origin of its work at this very location and the long history of the facility. For the search intent surrounding the Farm on Holzlarer Weg, the available information primarily highlights four themes: photos and first impressions, opening hours, animal-related offers and a building playground, as well as practical questions regarding birthdays and location. These focal points also shape this overview. The site is not about a closed event concept, but about open, low-threshold children's and youth work. Children aged 6 and older can come for free and without registration; during the holidays, the farm is additionally open on weekdays. The combination of nature, play, care, and self-activity makes the location a special meeting point for families in Bonn. Photos and First Impressions of the Farm on Holzlarer Weg
Even the official image descriptions convey a very clear picture of what visitors can expect. The youth farm's website mentions a blooming cherry tree, self-built wooden huts, and colorful pallets, while the children's birthday page shows a motif with grazing sheep in front of a brightly painted wooden fence and a wooden house. These images are not just decoration but a hint at the character of the place: handmade, close to nature, open, and deliberately not sterile. Therefore, those searching for “Farm on Holzlarer Weg photos” will find exactly what defines this facility: genuine impressions of a vibrant site instead of smoothly staged event images. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
The visual impression is also supported by the content description of the farm. The city of Bonn speaks of a spacious area that invites exploration, trying out, and experimenting. There are areas for climbing, hiding, and playing tag, as well as a large fire pit, a pond, and a playhouse. This not only conveys variety but also depth: The farm is a place where children are not just supervised but actively engage, try out, and create their own play spaces. This mix is attractive for many families looking for a place in Bonn that offers a lot of freedom but also an educational framework. ([bonn.de](https://www.bonn.de/themen-entdecken/familie-partnerschaft/offene-jugendarbeit/farm-am-holzlarer-weg.php?utm_source=openai))
The youth farm itself also describes the grounds as a place with meadows, trees, animal enclosures, a pond, a building playground, and many hidden corners. The picture is thus quite clear: The farm thrives on structure and openness at the same time. There are distinctive elements like a fire pit, climbing wall, or go-karts, but also open spaces where children can develop their own ideas. This diversity is particularly important for parents who, at first glance, pay attention not only to cleanliness and order but also to experiential value. The farm feels like a space where childhood is not managed but enabled. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
For the local search intent, it is also relevant that the farm does not appear as a short-term event location but as a well-established place with history, recognizability, and its own character. The mix of nature, animal units, self-built structures, and open spaces creates an atmosphere that resembles an educational adventure village more than a classic playground. Those searching for photos often want to understand this overall picture: How large is the area? What is the atmosphere like? How close to nature is it really? The official information clearly answers these questions in favor of a lively, action-oriented, and child-friendly place. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
Opening Hours, Admission, and Holiday Offers
A central advantage of the Farm on Holzlarer Weg is the free access. The youth farm Bonn explicitly describes the visit as free and without registration. This is particularly attractive for families because spontaneous visits work just as well as planned afternoons. Children and teenagers can explore the grounds at their own pace without needing to purchase tickets or reserve spots in advance. This open approach fits the character of the facility: not a closed amusement park, but a publicly accessible experiential space with an educational framework. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
The opening hours are regulated seasonally. From the Easter holidays to the autumn holidays, the farm is open on Mondays from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, but only for children aged 12 and older. From Tuesday to Friday, the hours are 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. From the autumn holidays to the Easter holidays, the weekday hours change: Mondays remain from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM for teenagers aged 12 and older, while from Tuesday to Friday, the hours are from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays continue from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This clear structure helps families with planning and also shows that the farm considers different target groups depending on the day of the week. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
The holiday offer is particularly strong. During the holidays, children between 6 and 14 years can use the grounds for free and without registration and participate in open programs. From Monday to Friday, the farm is expected to be open from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This makes the Farm on Holzlarer Weg an important point of contact during the holidays when many parents are looking for meaningful, active, and affordable leisure activities. This is complemented by free drinks and fruit and vegetable snacks; other drinks and small snacks are available for a small fee at the kiosk. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
The official description also shows that the holiday programs consist not only of free play but also of creative and experiential educational offers. Children can bake and cook in the playhouse, relax by the campfire, or use the building playground. This mix of relaxation, activity, and social interaction makes the holiday opening particularly valuable. Therefore, those searching for “Farm on Holzlarer Weg opening hours” will find not only times but also a clear leisure concept: open, affordable, age-differentiated, and designed for self-determined use. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
Animals, Building Playground, and Nature Experience
The content strength of the farm lies in the interplay of animal experiences, craftsmanship, and free time in nature. According to the official description, rabbits, chickens, sheep, and other animals live on the grounds, with which children can learn responsible handling. The city of Bonn also emphasizes the daily educational, animal-assisted offer. This is more than a pretty addition: Animals are a fixed part of the concept here and help promote responsibility, consideration, and observational skills. This is an important experiential space for children who rarely have contact with animals in the city. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
A second focus is the building playground with hut construction and craft offers. The youth farm describes a hut city where children can realize their own construction projects. In addition, there are workshops and creative offers that promote craftsmanship. For search queries like “building playground” or “wood farm,” this is a crucial point, as the farm is not just a play area but also a learning space. Here, individual constructions, improvised play worlds, and small buildings are created that are not predetermined but developed by the children themselves. This directly strengthens self-efficacy and imagination. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
The city of Bonn also mentions a soccer field, a climbing wall, go-karts, a pond where canoeing takes place in summer, and a large fire pit for campfires, stick bread, and cooking over the fire. This combination is remarkable because it combines sports, motor skills, and nature-related elements. A child can climb, play soccer, interact with animals, and sit by the fire in one afternoon. This diversity sets the farm apart from many other play areas. It is neither a pure sports field nor a pure animal farm but a versatile adventure and experiential space. ([bonn.de](https://www.bonn.de/themen-entdecken/familie-partnerschaft/offene-jugendarbeit/farm-am-holzlarer-weg.php?utm_source=openai))
The nature experience is complemented by gardening and environmental projects. The youth farm speaks of meadows, trees, a vegetable garden, and many hidden corners that invite free play. This creates an educational added value that goes beyond short-term entertainment. Children experience that nature is not just a backdrop but a space that can be shaped. They discover seasons, materials, animals, and weather conditions directly. For families looking for a place with “real outdoors” in Bonn, this is the decisive appeal: The farm offers not only activities but also experiences that remain memorable. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
Children's Birthdays and Open Family Offers
The Farm on Holzlarer Weg is also in high demand as a place for children's birthdays. The youth farm Bonn describes the offer as “pure farm”: The birthday child and guests receive the entire grounds as an experiential space, while parents have a basic and retreat area available. The children can play freely, explore, and participate in the existing offers of the farm. This form of a birthday is not designed for a fixed show or animation but for self-determined activity in the nature and play space. This is exactly what makes the offer so attractive for many families looking for a special yet uncomplicated children's birthday. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/kindergeburtstage))
The framework conditions are clearly defined: A maximum of 15 children and 4 adults are allowed. The cost is 50 euros per celebration, 25 euros for members of the support association. Stick bread can be optionally added for 10 euros. Additionally, a grill, toilets, and a clearly regulated time frame are available. Birthdays begin from Tuesday to Saturday at 2:00 PM; earlier entry is not possible. In winter, from the autumn holidays to the Easter holidays, the celebration ends no later than 5:30 PM, in summer no later than 6:30 PM. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/kindergeburtstage))
Practically important is also the process: Booking is done online via a booking calendar, available dates are displayed, and after booking, a confirmation is sent via email. Payment is made on-site in cash. Upon arrival, parents receive a brief introduction to the grounds and possibilities. The birthday is then carried out independently, with children being able to participate in all open offers of the farm. This is a nice solution for families who want a protected framework but do not need a completely organized event location. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/kindergeburtstage))
For the open family visit, the monthly open house day is also interesting. The farm invites interested families once a month, except during school holidays. Children aged 6 and older can explore the farm and participate in activities; younger children between 4 and 6 years are welcome with an adult. There are guided tours of the animal area as well as snacks at the counter in the playhouse. This form of open day is particularly relevant for parents who want to get to know the farm before a longer visit or before a birthday booking. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
History, Sponsorship, and Educational Mission
The Farm on Holzlarer Weg is not only a leisure place but a historically grown site of the youth farm Bonn. According to the youth farm Bonn, the overall initiative was founded in 1980; the farm on Holzlarer Weg opened after a lengthy search for a location as the first offer for open children's and youth work. The farm page also states that it is the original site of the youth farm Bonn and has been providing a special space for children and young people since 1985. These two pieces of information can be read meaningfully together: 1980 as the founding year of the sponsor, 1985 as the start of the current location. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/standort/farm-am-holzlarer-weg?utm_source=openai))
The sponsorship lies with the youth farm Bonn e.V. The farm is also included in the current leisure facility needs plan of the city of Bonn and is financially supported by the Office for Children, Youth, and Families. This shows that it is not a private individual project but an acknowledged part of the Bonn children's and youth leisure landscape. This public anchoring is equally important for families and professionals as it signals reliability, continuity, and educational quality. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
The educational mission is clearly defined: Children should learn to handle animals appropriately, develop their imagination and creativity, positively develop their leisure behavior, and strengthen personal responsibility and independence. The city of Bonn describes the daily animal-assisted offer, hut building, crafting, and open play areas. For families, this means: The farm is not just a place to pass the time but a learning space where children can grow through tasks and practice social skills in everyday life. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/standort/farm-am-holzlarer-weg?utm_source=openai))
In addition, there are cooperations with schools, regular visits, project weeks, AG offers, and open all-day formats. The youth farm also refers to animal sponsorships, where children and parents take on a sponsorship, receive a certificate, and regularly get information about “their” animal. Once a year, a sponsorship meeting takes place. This shows how strongly the farm focuses on bonding, responsibility, and long-term relationships. Those looking for an institution that not only supervises but also involves will find a convincing approach here. Those who want to experience the farm should prepare for movement, outdoor time, and simple, robust clothing. Yet this is also the strength of the place: It is not a smooth consumer product but a real experiential space with earth, wood, animals, fire, and open areas. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/kindergeburtstage))

In addition to open offers, there are children's birthdays, holiday programs, animal sponsorships, school cooperations, and other educational projects. This makes the farm differently experienceable during the day, in holiday times, and on special action days. This makes the location interesting for very different target groups: families with small children, older children from 6 years, teenagers from 12 years on certain days, and educational professionals from schools and institutions. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))
Those planning their first visit will benefit most from a simple basic rule: check the opening hours in advance and then plan enough time.
Yet this is also the strength of the place: It is not a smooth consumer product but a real experiential space with earth, wood, animals, fire, and open areas. ([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/kindergeburtstage))
For the search for “Farm on Holzlarer Weg Bonn,” it is also relevant that the location combines many different uses under one roof.

Farm on Holzlarer Weg | Opening Hours & Children's Birthdays
The Farm on Holzlarer Weg in Bonn-Pützchen is not an ordinary playground, but an open place for experiencing nature, movement, animal encounters, and creative expression. ([bonn.de](https://www.bonn.de/themen-entdecken/familie-partnerschaft/offene-jugendarbeit/farm-am-holzlarer-weg.php?utm_source=openai))
([jugendfarm-bonn.de](https://www.jugendfarm-bonn.de/abenteuerspielplaetze/farm-am-holzlarer-weg))

We were here with 2 kids (4 and 9 years old) on an open house day, which is every 2nd Saturday of the month. The area is large and there is a lot to explore. Our little one especially enjoyed the small animal tour. We were allowed into the enclosure and pet the animals; the sheep even ate carrots from our hands. For the older one, pottery was the highlight. The kids can move around freely and help out. There were delicious waffles at a good price and other snacks. We enjoyed our time here and will come back in December.

We are in the year 2025 and you can't rely on the information available on social media or Google, which I find very unfortunate. The kids keep going back and forth, and every time they go, the farm is closed, even though it says online that they are open. This happened on the weekend and on Mondays. Sometimes on Tuesdays. Both the large farm on Holzlarer Weg and the small one on Finken Weg. I would appreciate more accurate information.

The children's city Mini-Beuel is a fantastic initiative in Bonn, with an incredible number of play opportunities and attractions. Our daughter has been there twice and was thrilled each time. Also, in 2019, a big thank you to the great team and all the helpers!
