Bonn Christmas Circus: When the ring becomes a winter fairy tale
On December 17, 2026, the Pützchen market meadows will transform into a festively lit circus city. The 19th Bonn Christmas Circus opens its new season with international top artists, great emotion, and a theatrical atmosphere that brings the magic of Christmas directly to the ring.
Premiere under the heated tent palace
In the fully heated tent palace, the audience can expect around 140 minutes of stage experience including a break. When light moods, music, and artistry intertwine, a staging emerges between thrills, poetry, and festive warmth. The premiere begins at 7:00 PM, with entry opening an hour earlier.
International artistry and great feelings
Twelve international show acts shape the program for the season. Winners of renowned circus festivals, including artists from the Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo, combine precise body control with spectacular acting. Acrobatics, clowning, and visual effects create a varied arc of tension that reaches both children and adult circus lovers.
A festive circus city for the whole family
Even before the show starts, the atmospherically designed circus city invites you to linger. In the foyer tent, gastronomic offerings such as crêpes, caramelized almonds, mulled wine, and hearty meals await. The festive backdrop, warm light, and the audience's eager anticipation converge into that special theatrical atmosphere that makes a live experience unmistakable.
Dramaturgy between tension and wonder
The dramaturgy of the Christmas circus thrives on changing tempos: Moments of dizzying heights are followed by humorous relief and poetic images. Each performance opens a new stage space as the ring becomes the setting for courage, balance, and trust. It is exactly this connection of technical precision and emotional closeness that makes the Bonn Christmas Circus a special cultural event of the Advent season.
Conclusion: An evening full of Christmas magic
The Bonn Christmas Circus promises a colorful stage experience with international artistry, festive music, and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Those who experience the premiere live will feel the magic not only in the ring but also in the immediate audience reaction: shared wonder, laughter, and applause under a glowing circus roof. Tickets with direct seat selection are available online and through BonnTicket.
