Identifying Heat Loss and Making Energy Visible

How does a building lose heat – and where are energy improvements worthwhile? The free workshop by the Bonn Energy Agency invites you to the Studio 6 of the Brotfabrik Cultural Center in Bonn-Beuel on November 17, 2026. In a hands-on event experience, thermography will be explained in an understandable, illustrative way directly at the building.

Tracking Down with the Infrared Camera

At the beginning, networker Julia Scherzl and energy consultant Martin Witt will introduce the work of the Bonn Energy Agency and the essential basics of thermography. The group will then explore various areas around the Brotfabrik with an infrared camera. Thermal images of windows, doors, facades, building connections, and other building sections will make thermal irregularities visible.

Understanding Thermal Images Correctly

The colored images provide exciting insights into the energy quality of a building. Afterwards, the images created will be evaluated together in Studio 6. This will involve discussing the influence of materials, weather, reflections, and temperature differences as well as typical misinterpretations during image analysis.

From Observation to Concrete Solution

The workshop combines professional expertise with practical event planning and clear communication for the target audience. Topics will include insulation measures, airtightness, windows, building connections, and reducing thermal bridges. Additionally, participants will receive information on consulting services and potential funding opportunities.

Personal questions and experiences related to residential buildings are explicitly welcome. No prior knowledge is required. The number of participants is limited to twelve people, so prior registration is necessary.

Conclusion: Energy Efficiency Becomes a Visible Experience

This workshop makes abstract energy losses tangible and shows how concrete action ideas arise from thermal images. Look forward to an informative event atmosphere, illustrative practical examples, and expert impulses for more living comfort and less heat loss. Register in time and experience thermography live in Bonn-Beuel.
