Your Compass for the Professional Future in Bonn
What comes after high school? University, apprenticeship, gap year, world trip, or a direct entry into professional life – the workshop Shape the Future: Your Compass for Career Choice! supports young people in developing their own path from many possibilities. On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Volkshochschule Bonn invites you to a varied day full of orientation, reflection, and concrete future ideas.
Recognizing Strengths and Discovering New Paths
The focus is on the personal strengths, interests, and goals of the participants. Short exercises, questions, games, and reflection phases create space to perceive one's own abilities more accurately and to make professional wishes tangible. It is not about pre-made answers, but about an individual assessment of one's position.
Career Choice with Varied Methods
The event combines career orientation with practical event planning and a personalized approach to the target audience. Participants build on experiences from school, social media, or working with ChatGPT and examine which activities suit them: working with people, creative tasks, technical professions, outdoor activities, or challenges with brain and hands.
A Personal Roadmap for the Future
At the end of the workshop, a personal compass for the next steps will be created. Participants gain more clarity for their career choice and develop a personal roadmap that supports their decision between apprenticeship, university, gap year, or other perspectives. The workshop is led by Monika Soddemann, a qualified educator, certified career coach, and ProfilePASS consultant for young people.
Well Prepared for the Workshop
For the event experience, the Volkshochschule recommends bringing any previous documents or notes from career counseling, school, or AI tools. Additionally, some exercises will be sent via email beforehand. These can be printed out or brought as screenshots to the workshop. Breaks will be taken as agreed upon.
Conclusion: Orientation that Moves You
The event at the VHS Bonn is aimed at young people who want to actively shape their professional future. An open event atmosphere, interactive methods, and expert guidance create the right environment for new insights and concrete next steps. Those who want to see their own path after high school more clearly will experience a compact day for personal orientation and career perspectives.
