Wave Of Joy celebrates 30 years with “Melodies From Heaven”
When the doors of the Lutherkirche Bonn open on Friday, November 6, 2026, a jubilee concert full of gospel energy, powerful voices, and touching choral moments begins. The Bonn Gospel Choir Wave Of Joy celebrates its 30th anniversary with a musical evening that combines contemporary Black Gospel, powerful live band sounds, and spiritual depth.
Gospel with a great stage and moving sound color
Under the motto “Melodies From Heaven,” an energetic choir, high-profile soloists, and a live band come together. Mara Minjoli, Lewin Blümel, and Rosa Kemp set distinctive vocal accents, while Łukasz Flakus takes over the musical direction and provides the sound foundation at the piano.
From contemporary Black Gospel to classics
The program combines spectacular pieces of contemporary Black Gospel like “Praise” and “That’s My King” with beloved classics. “Wade In The Water” brings the rhythmic tradition of gospel into the church space, while “Total Praise” creates special goosebumps moments with a highly layered choral sound and emotional intensity.
Live atmosphere in the Lutherkirche
The Lutherkirche provides the perfect setting for a concert experience where acoustics, audience mood, and stage performance interplay. Coordinated choir entrances, dynamic solo passages, and the conducting of Łukasz Flakus allow the music to pulse between reverent calm and captivating groove.
A jubilee evening for gospel fans and families
Wave Of Joy has stood for touching performances and a vibrant gospel tradition in Bonn for 30 years. The concert is aimed at both experienced gospel fans and families as well as curious music lovers. Children and youths up to 14 years old receive free admission.
