On the Way 3.0: Choral Music Between Love, Farewell, and Evening

On Sunday, November 8, 2026, the Bonn Vocal Ensemble invites you to a special choral concert at the Peace Church Bonn-Kessenich. Under the title On the Way 3.0, the ensemble combines sacred and secular choral music from Austria and Germany into an atmospheric event experience.

Romantic Sound Worlds in the Peace Church

The centerpiece of the approximately 90-minute concert program is Josef Gabriel Rheinberger's double-choir Cantus Missae. The work combines romantic choral literature with melodies inspired by Gregorian chant and unfolds in the acoustic atmosphere of the Peace Church an impressive musical expanse.

Evening Songs and Folk Song Arrangements

The program is complemented by romantic evening songs by Johannes Brahms and Hugo Wolf. Arrangements of well-known folk songs by Friedrich Silcher, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, and Max Reger bridge familiar melodies, artistic choral arrangements, and musical memories.

Experience the Bonn Vocal Ensemble Live

The Bonn Vocal Ensemble is a mixed chamber choir with more than 40 active singers. Under the professional direction of Ulrike Ludewig, the ensemble annually creates several concert programs. A balanced composition and pronounced vocal culture characterize the sustainable choral sound, which allows for both quiet, intimate moments and powerful musical highlights.

A Concert with a Special Travel Background

The program was created in connection with a choir trip to Austria. Musical encounters and impressions from this trip will be audible in Bonn. This creates a concert dramaturgy that not only thematically addresses love, farewell, and evening but also makes them directly experienceable through changing sound colors.

Conclusion: An Evening for Sound, Peace, and Encounter

Visitors can expect an atmospheric choral concert with sacred music, romantic evening songs, and well-known folk song melodies. Those who wish to experience the special audience atmosphere of a live concert in a church will find a musical evening with depth and lasting resonance at On the Way 3.0.
