MetzgerButcher brings Electro-Indie-Post-Punk-Rock to Café Pawlow
On Friday, November 6, 2026, Café Pawlow in Bonn's old town transforms into a vibrant meeting point for unconventional guitar sound, electronic beats, and edgy punk energy. MetzgerButcher will take the stage at 8:00 PM, combining bass, guitar, and electronic rhythm machine for a concentrated live experience. Admission is free.
Two brothers, one uncompromising sound
The Bonn punk rock trio Wantu & The srie 4's serves as the starting point for the brothers duo MetzgerButcher. Since 2020, Larry Butcher and Hans W. Metzger have been developing their own Electro-Indie-Post-Punk-Rock: driving bass lines, precisely programmed rhythms, and guitars that oscillate between raw punk impulse and electronic density. The reduced lineup creates a direct, focused sound with plenty of room for stage performance and closeness to the audience.
Between punk history and electronic present
Musically, MetzgerButcher connects to the punk of the 1970s and the Neue Deutsche Welle of the early 1980s, but translates these influences into a modern club aesthetic. The electronic rhythm machine provides synchronization and pressure, while bass and guitar form the organic core of the pieces. This results in an evening of concerts that straddles post-punk, indie rock, electro, and danceable underground energy.
From debut album to new songs
In June 2023, the band released their debut album Zwei vor Zwölf, which received positive reviews in, among others, Ox-Magazine and Deutschlandfunk Kultur. With the singles Alles verloren, Glücklich sein, and Mensch und Natur, MetzgerButcher continues on the path they have chosen. The current music combines social observation, dark tones, and a direct, unembellished delivery.
Live atmosphere at Café Pawlow
Café Pawlow on Heerstraße provides the perfect setting for this concentrated club show. Proximity to the stage, immediate sound, and the special intensity of a small concert venue make the evening a concert experience without distance. When the beat starts, raw guitars, electronic textures, and the audience's mood come together.
Conclusion: Free admission, guaranteed energy
MetzgerButcher delivers a unique evening at Pawlow for all who love post-punk, indie rock, and electronic sound experiments. Admission is free – the best conditions to discover the band live and be swept away by their intense stage performance.
