Gospel with Goosebumps Guarantee: Wave Of Joy Celebrates 30 Years in Bonn
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Luther Church Bonn will transform into a powerful sound space for contemporary Black Gospel. Under the title Melodies From Heaven, the Bonn Gospel Choir Wave Of Joy celebrates its 30th anniversary with a jubilee concert full of energy, spirituality, and musical intimacy.
Choral Sound Meets Live Band and Strong Solo Voices
Wave Of Joy combines a multi-voiced gospel choir sound with a live band and high-profile soloists. Mara Minjoli, Lewin Blümel, and Rosa Kemp add additional vocal accents while Łukasz Flakus takes over the musical direction and provides precise accompaniment at the piano.
Between Contemporary Black Gospel and Great Classics
The program takes the audience through the emotional range of gospel: spectacular pieces of contemporary Black Gospel like Praise and That's My King meet popular classics like Wade in the Water and Total Praise. Transitions between powerful grooves, multi-part harmonization, and heartfelt passages create an intense live atmosphere.
30 Years of Musical History
Since 1996, Wave Of Joy has been captivating its audience in Bonn. The choir focuses primarily on contemporary Black Gospel while also expanding its repertoire to include works by European composers. Trips to the USA shaped the musical development of the ensemble and deepened the connection to the gospel tradition.
An Evening Concert for the Whole Family
The doors open at 5:30 PM, with the concert starting at 6:00 PM. The jubilee price is 15 euros; children and teenagers up to and including 14 years can attend the concert free of charge. The Luther Church in Bonn's Südstadt provides the perfect setting for a concert experience between sacred acoustics, bright voices, and a shared celebratory mood.
Conclusion: At Melodies From Heaven, the audience can expect a festive gospel concert with live band, solo voices, moving classics, and the special energy of a 30-year choir anniversary. Those who want to experience Wave Of Joy live should mark November 7, 2026, in Bonn.
